Agricultural Technical Advisor
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Implement and suggest improvements to the Technical Support and Design policies and procedures
  • Develop feasibility studies to identify crop production estimates based on the research and analysis studies
  • Provide detailed crops production cycles reports pertaining machinery and staff requirements, diseases, pests, fertilization programs, costs, etc.
  • Develop detailed studies and/or experimental plots in order to select the best crops/varieties at each specific farm location
  • Interpret satellite images for crop monitoring and the production of vegetation indices
  • Develop fertilization programs based on soil and plant tissue analysis
  • Draft bill of quantities and budget based on agricultural requirements
  • Provide the Procurement team with agricultural input on the development of proposals and tender documents
  • Carry out quality control in order to ensure that project execution is according to the set plan
  • Implement corrective action when issues arise during the implementation phase
  • Advise the Design and Engineering team on soil texture and other materials for the purpose of civil construction
  • Provide input in the physical and chemical analysis of soil, water, crops and plant tissues based on experience and develop action plans if needed
  • Review soil maps developed and provide input
  • Monitor soil and plant tissue analysis for efficient fertilization and crop management
  • Provide interpretation for forage analysis results and develop crop management plans
  • Advise on the selection of agricultural machinery suitable for different crops
  • Advise the Procurement team on the right suppliers to purchase agricultural materials from
  • Develop agricultural training materials and contribute to the communication of information to employees
  • Carry out assigned activities in specified area as instructed by the Technical Assessment and Support Department Manager with minimal direct supervision
  • Supervise and coach team members to ensure optimal performance is achieved and provide improvement recommendations as required
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering or equivalent
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience with at least 2 years in a similar role
